Anny Cook presents the fifth installment in the Mystic Valley series in Love Never-Ending,
the story of Bishop Llewellyn, brother of Merlyn Llewellyn—one of the most prolific
of fathers in the valley. Cook expands our knowledge of Mystic Valley in this book.
Sometimes, rather than a glossary of terms at the beginning of the story, you may
wish for a cast of characters. There are a lot of people introduced in this book
and it does get confusing at times.
A trust-fund baby, Bishop’s life outside the valley has been one of wealth, leisure
and sex whenever, wherever he felt like it. But once he drags the injured Traveller
Devereaux into the valley looking for help, all the rules (or lack there of) change.
The story runs parallel to both books two and three, telling the story of Bishop
and Samara’s relationship and Bishop’s adjustment to the valley.
Love Never-Ending is a good addition to this series. Though the story telling has
been nonlinear since the second book, looping around to show what happened from the
perspective of another character until that character joined the main storyline.
This has changed with Love Never-Ending making it a more challenging read. It isn’t
until almost the end of this book that the story joins the main storyline. If it’s
been a while since you read Cherished Destinies, you may want a refresher before
picking up Bishop’s story. Ellora’s Cave website indicates this book can be read
as a stand alone. I disagree. A new reader would undoubtedly be very lost trying
to read this as a stand alone.
The end of the book, specifically the epilogue, has added a spark to this storyline
that definitely makes readers want to know more. Changes have come to Mystic Valley
and they promise great reads in the future.
